Stamp duty and registration fees are major revenue sources for state governments. CEGIS works on property valuation guidelines, proposing targeted, location-specific updates conducted annually in two states. This data-driven approach leverages existing registration data and market intelligence to systematically reduce the gap between guideline and market values. Phase 1 of the project involves analysing high-value transactions to anchor targeted updates, while Phase 2 explores integrating data from real estate platforms and bank auctions. This method ensures a fairer and more efficient revenue collection, ensuring increased government revenue from stamp duty and registration fees.
